JDRF’s One Walk Has Built a Nationwide Presence
Business executive and community philanthropist David Kushner of Cresskill, New Jersey, serves as president of commercial bridge loan company Paradigm Capital Group. In addition to bridge loans, the New York City-based firm focuses on real estate acquisitions. While medical research has shown that a cure may be many years away, the JDRF’s efforts have improved treatment modalities for people with the condition worldwide. The group maintains an ongoing commitment to funding developments in the prevention of the disease as well as its complications.
The JDRF’s annual One Walk brings together a community of committed individuals to raise monies to further the cause. of outside interests that he enjoys in his spare time. David Kushner likes the sport of
basketball, and as a person who lives in northern New Jersey about a half hour
from New York City by car, he can go the Knicks games in person, and he can
also travel to Brooklyn to see the Nets. There are a number of major colleges
in the area, so he can attend their games as well whenever he has the
inclination. In addition to his enjoyment of basketball, he is also a football
enthusiast, so he can take in Giants and Jets games during the pigskin season.
Watching sports is a lot of fun, but many people would say it is
even more enjoyable to play them yourself. David Kushner is into golf, and a
round of golf can be a good source of exercise as you socialize with your
friends. Tennis is another area of interest for him, and this sport provides an
even more intensive workout.
He likes the theater, and he lives in the perfect place
considering the fact that New York City is considered by many to be the theater
capital of the country. When you have been successful, you have the opportunity
to invest in things that you like, so David Kushner is in a position to indulge
his love for cars as well. His other interests include reading, photography,
the practice of yoga, Pilates, and spinning.
The Basics of Long-Term, Property-Backed CMBS Loans
David Kushner, an established business leader who lives in Cresskill, New Jersey, serves as the president of Paradigm Capital Group in New York City, where he arranges quick, reliable financing of commercial real estate projects. One of the areas in which executive David Kushner of Cresskill has extensive knowledge is commercial mortgage-backed security (CMBS) loans.
A low-cost type of equity, CMBS loans are ideal for owners of properties who are seeking recapitalization of an existing cash-flowing asset. Among the key consideration of CMBS loans are that they have fixed rates and are long term by nature. CMBS loans are not designed for flexibility.
Available as five- to 10-year notes, CMBS loans represent a pooling of loans into securities, with real estate assets serving as collateral. For this reason, paying back the loan before maturity can prove a costly undertaking because investors are guaranteed to receive income throughout the life of the loan.

New JDRF-Funded Research on Type 1 Diabetes
A longtime Cresskill, New Jersey, executive, David Kushner serves as president of Paradigm Capital Group, where he directs bridge financing transactions across the country. Active in his Cresskill community, David Kushner supports the Juvenile Research Diabetes Foundation, or JDRF.
Focused on ending type 1 diabetes (T1D), JDRF is a nonprofit with a strong research focus. In July, several JDRF-funded researchers presented at the American Diabetes Association’s 77th Scientific Sessions conference, which stands as the largest such event in the world. Among the JDRF projects highlighted was a landmark trial of imatinib (Gleevec) that explored the cancer drug’s potential against newly diagnosed T1D progression.
Undertaken by University of California, San Francisco, researchers, the phase 2 trial showed the drug to be effective in slowing T1D progression and in working to counter insulin production deficiencies among adults. On average, those who took the medication enjoyed improved beta cell function and required fewer insulin treatments, which points toward new treatment pathways for a challenging disease.
High Sugar Intake During Pregnancy Linked to Increased Risk of Asthma
A resident of Cresskill, New Jersey, David Kushner manages equity investments as the president of New York's Paradigm Capital Group. In addition to his work with Paradigm, David Kushner of Cresskill is an avid golfer who participates in the annual Fund to Cure Asthma golf tournament.
Asthma is an inflammatory medical condition that causes coughing, tightness in the chest, and shortness of breath. Although the cause of asthma isn't known, a recent study conducted by researchers at the University of London found that women who eat excessive amounts of sugar during pregnancy can double their chances of having children who will develop asthma.
The researchers, who polled nearly 9,000 pairs of mothers and children dating back to the 1990s, subsequently compared the 20 percent of mothers who consumed more than 5 teaspoons of sugar per day to the 20 percent of mothers who had the least amount of sugar. The results showed that the children of mothers in the top 20 percent had a one in five chance of experiencing asthma at some point in their lives, while the children of mothers in the bottom 20 percent had a one in 10 chance of developing the inflammatory disease. Lead researcher Professor Seif Shaheen said the research team hopes to develop a trial in order to test whether it can prevent asthma by reducing sugar consumption among pregnant mothers.
Culinary Traditions in Italy’s Piedmont Region
David Kushner is a Cresskill, New Jersey, executive who serves as head of the Paradigm Capital Group and facilitates commercial loans that enable projects to go forward. An avid traveler, David Kushner enjoys excursions to Europe with his wife and has a particular interest in exploring food in the regions of Italy he visits.
The hilly Piedmont region north of Milan is known for a distinctive cuisine that is savory and provides a perfect counterpart to the tannin-rich heavy Nebbiolo wines. Of note are the Tartufo Bianco d’Alba (Alba white truffle), as well as Bagna Cauda, a garlic and anchovy fondue with olive oil as its basis. Kept warm over a flame throughout the duration of the meal, the dish would traditionally be positioned at the center of the table, surrounded by the food and wine.
Local Piedmont beef is known throughout the world for quality, with lean razza bovina piemontese featuring low cholesterol content, while retaining tenderness and succulence. Served raw, carne cruda can be thinly sliced or as a ground beef dish combined with lemon juice, garlic, and salt and pepper. It goes well as an antipasto starter with wines such as Barbera and Dolcetto.

you are ever faced with. The feelings of loss and failure, sadness and
anger can overwhelm even the strongest of personality types. David
Kushner, co-founder of DivorceForce.com, offers these strategies for navigating life after a divorce.
Look For Support
As your marriage status changes, dynamics may shift with some relationships that were built around the old family structure in your life. Leaning on loyal friends and family for support is essential when coping with the devastation of divorce. Many support groups and online forums specifically devoted to life after divorce are also available. Sharing feelings and frustrations with those who have similar situations can build bonds that are essential as you begin living a new life.
Look Forward to a Brighter Future
The grief of a divorce can be overwhelming, but keep in mind that the marriage itself most likely wasn’t healthy and happy to begin with. A new future is on the horizon, as is a new way of living life. Dwelling on the failure of the marriage will only make the path to a new found happiness more difficult and while change is difficult, it is also a necessary step when embarking on a new chapter in life.
David Kushner is the Chief Financial officer of the website DivorceForce.com, a forum dedicated to helping those going through a divorce. On DivorceForce, both men and women can share information and access support as they go through the divorce process.

Those
who practice yoga are regularly challenging their balance, as balance
poses are an integral part of the discipline. With many Americans
spending much of their time sitting in cars or in desks while working,

balance. Balance is especially important as we grow older, as many
people suffer falls win older age.
Yoga Builds Brain Power
The

the mind and focus attention, ultimately helping the brain to operate
